Alger Heights Halloween 5K

Join your neighborhood for a fun Halloween 5K that welcomes everyone—whether you're chasing a personal record or taking a leisurely stroll in costume. This volunteer-run event celebrates the local community while showcasing the Alger Heights neighborhood during beautiful fall foliage. All 5K participants receive chip timing, so you can track your performance. Now in its 14th year, this is truly a "small town" feel in the heart of the city. The 5K is just the beginning of the festivities. Stick around for a Community Costume Contest open to all (no race registration needed!) with categories for best individual costumes under 18 and over 18, plus best group costumes for parties of 2–3 and 4 or more. Everyone's invited to visit the photo booth to capture their Halloween moment. Costumes are encouraged but entirely optional—come however feels right for your family.
