All About Owls and Pellets

Up-close look at resident owls and dissect pellets at Blandford Nature Center.

Learn what makes owls such effective nighttime hunters during this hands-on program led by Blandford's wildlife team. You'll observe the nature center's resident owls up close and discover fascinating facts about how they live and hunt. The highlight for most visitors is dissecting an actual owl pellet—the regurgitated ball of fur and bones that owls produce—and finding out why these pellets form in the first place. It's an engaging experience that appeals to both kids and grown-ups. Registration is required and must be completed online by noon the day before the program. Pricing is $14 for non-members and $11.20 for members; children under 2 attend free. Your registration fee covers general admission to the nature center as well. All children need to be registered and accompanied by a registered adult. The program takes place indoors, so weather won't affect your visit. If the program fills up, you can still register to join a waitlist and will be contacted if spots open up.
