Art Basics: Painting with Carlos Sampson

Join local artist Carlos Sampson for a hands-on introduction to painting with acrylics. During this 90-minute session, you'll explore fundamental techniques for rendering light and shadow on canvas. No prior art experience is necessary—this class welcomes complete beginners as well as those looking to build on existing skills. All supplies are provided, so you just need to show up ready to create. This workshop is designed for teens and adults. Spots fill quickly on a first-come, first-served basis, so registering early is a good idea if you're interested. The session is made possible through support from the Grand Rapids Public Library Foundation and the Vander Veen Center for the Book Fund.
