The event kicks off with the Wings of Mercy West Runway 5K, a community race where registration fees support free medical flights for patients in need. After the race, everyone can dig into a pancake breakfast and explore the airport grounds together. Whether your kids are curious about flying or just looking for an action-packed morning, there's something for most ages and interests. Beyond the race and breakfast, you'll find several free activities to enjoy, including flight simulators, RC flying demonstrations, and a classic car show. Kids ages 8 and up can take advantage of free introductory flights through the EAA Young Eagles program. For those wanting a more immersive experience, the airport offers paid tickets to ride aboard a historic WWII C-47 aircraft—a 30-minute adventure with roughly 15 minutes of actual flight time, during which passengers can move around the cabin and snap photos of the cockpit and landscape below.
