Backyard Adventures
Hands-on backyard science and nature discovery for elementary kids at Grand Rapids Public Museum.
Backyard Adventures invites kids to explore the science hiding in plain sight—right outside their door. Through interactive exhibits and activities, visitors discover fascinating questions like what the world looks like through a bee's eyes, how bricks fit together perfectly, and what makes a prize-winning pumpkin grow. The exhibit is designed with children ages 5 to 12 in mind, though visitors of all ages will find something to spark their curiosity about the everyday natural world.
This hands-on experience at the Grand Rapids Public Museum helps families develop a deeper appreciation for the science that surrounds them daily. Whether your kids enjoy nature, bugs, gardens, or just asking "why," they'll find plenty to explore and learn. Tickets are available for purchase, and the museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the event.
