Backyard Adventures

In every backyard and playground, there's science waiting to be discovered. Backyard Adventures invites families to explore the everyday wonders hiding in outdoor spaces—from how a bee sees the world to the way bricks fit together perfectly in a path, to the secrets of growing prize-winning pumpkins. This hands-on experience is designed primarily for children ages 5 to 12, though visitors of all ages will find something to spark their curiosity. By engaging with the exhibits and activities, your family will develop a fresh appreciation for the science that's always been right outside your door. The museum is open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm during this event, and tickets are available for purchase. General admission covers access to the museum's exhibits, though planetarium shows can be added separately if desired.
