Caledonia Lakeside Park: Beginner Birding

Get outside and discover the birds around you! Blandford Nature Center's educators will guide your family on a beginner-friendly birding adventure through the park. You'll learn basic bird identification techniques and get recommendations for helpful field guides and apps to use on future birding outings. Whether you're brand new to birding or already passionate about it, you're welcome to join. Feel free to bring your own binoculars, or borrow a pair from the program leaders. This outing works best for ages 12 and up, though younger children can participate when accompanied by a registered adult—it's not a drop-off program. Plan to dress for outdoor weather and wear sturdy shoes, as you'll be walking park trails. Tickets are $8 for adults and children ages 2 and up, with free admission for children under 2. Pre-registration is strongly recommended since space fills up, and you can sign up online until one hour before the program starts. Arrive a few minutes early so your group doesn't miss the start, as the hike begins right on time.
