Can You Dig It? | Grades 2-3

Dig into hands-on STEM exploration at Van Andel for grades 2โ€“3.

**Can You Dig It? | Grades 2-3** This four-day summer camp invites young paleontologists-in-training to explore fossils and dig into Earth's ancient history. Campers will work together using real paleontologist tools to conduct simulated fossil digs, create their own fossils, and build "fossil sandwiches" as they learn about prehistoric life. The experience includes a trip to the Grand Rapids Public Museum, where students will examine genuine fossil specimens and exhibits firsthand. It's hands-on learning designed to spark curiosity about our planet's past. The camp runs for four days, with mornings from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and is geared toward children entering grades 2 and 3 in fall 2026. Throughout the program, kids will apply what they've learned to explain how ancient creatures lived and adapted to their environments. The Van Andel Institute for Education organizes this adventure with a focus on encouraging critical thinking and creative problem-solving. If you need to cancel, full refunds are available up to a week before camp starts, though EventBrite fees are not refundable.
