Celebrating Beethoven
All-Beethoven program with dramatic overture & powerful symphonies.
The Grand Rapids Symphony is presenting an all-Beethoven concert featuring three of the composer's most celebrated works. The program opens with the dramatic Overture to Egmont, moves into the technically impressive Piano Concerto No. 5 (known as the "Emperor"), performed by pianist Evren Ozel, and concludes with the joyful and triumphant Symphony No. 7. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience some of classical music's most enduring masterpieces in one evening.
This concert works well for families with older children and teens who enjoy orchestral music or are studying Beethoven in school. Even if your family is new to classical concerts, the energy and accessibility of these particular pieces make them engaging for listeners at various levels of experience. It's a chance to introduce kids to live symphony performance in an intimate setting with a focused program.
