Comic Geek Out

Bring your family to celebrate all things comic books and fandom at the library's annual Comic Geek Out event! This all-ages gathering offers something for everyone, from hands-on craft stations and arcade games to tabletop gaming and face painting. You can browse local artists' work in the Reading Room, meet professional cosplayers for photos, and explore a traveling exhibit on the history of swords and warriors. Free snacks and refreshments are available while supplies last, and everyone gets to take home a commemorative poster designed by local artist Cody Coppernoll. Throughout the day, there are special performances and activities scheduled in the auditorium, including a swordsmanship showcase, a Q&A with voice actor Damien Haas, and an interactive fantasy music show called Ballads of Shorevania that lets the audience help shape the story. If your child loves cosplay, you can register them at the welcome table to showcase their costume on stage and compete for prizes. Free parking is available in the library's lot, with overflow parking nearby. Just plan to arrive early to make the most of this fun, five-hour celebration of geek culture!
