De Tuin Klas: Patch to Pantry

Learn practical food preservation skills in this hands-on workshop led by an MSU Extension Food Safety Educator. You'll discover the essentials of canning and preserving—from knowing when to harvest your produce to selecting the right equipment and mastering safe techniques. This session covers the fundamentals you need to confidently can and preserve your homegrown fruits and vegetables so you can enjoy them fresh throughout the year. The class runs for 90 minutes and includes everything you need to get started: all supplies, research-tested recipes, and jars to take home. The $15 fee per person covers materials, making it an affordable way to build a valuable skill. This workshop works well for gardeners of all experience levels who want to extend their harvest season. Tickets are non-refundable, and the class takes place in the white Celebration Pavilion at Windmill Island Gardens.
