Farm Care Apprentices at The Blandford Farm

Is your child interested in learning what it takes to care for farm animals? This two-hour hands-on program invites kids ages 10–15 to work directly with the animals at Blandford Farm, including chickens, goats, and sheep. Under the guidance of Wildlife Programs Specialist Sarah Peterson, participants will learn practical skills like feeding, watering, and enriching the animals' environment. It's a drop-off program, so parents can explore the main Nature Center nearby while their child participates. Registration costs $60 for non-members or $48 for members. Online registration is required and closes at noon the day before the program. The experience takes place both indoors and outdoors, so dress your child appropriately for the weather. Basic facilities including port-a-potties and a hand washing station are available on-site. Every participant goes home with a Blandford vintage logo vinyl sticker as a memento.
