GR Santa Parade & Tree Lighting 2026

Join families across West Michigan for a festive holiday celebration in downtown Grand Rapids. This free community event features a parade with over 50 entries, with Santa making a special appearance as he exits his sleigh at Rosa Park Circle around 6:30 pm. After the parade wraps up, families can enjoy a tree lighting ceremony and various activities throughout the evening. Kids will love the special letter-writing station where they can compose messages to Santa, with free delivery handled by USPS. It's a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season with neighbors and friends. The whole event is free to attend, making it an accessible outing for families of all sizes. Arrive early to secure a good spot along the parade route and soak in the Christmas atmosphere as downtown lights up for the celebration.
