Guided Shinrin-Yoku: Rest & Reconnect in Nature
Guided Shinrin-Yoku: Rest & Reconnect in Nature at Blandford Nature Center
Discover the Japanese practice of forest bathing with certified guide Katie Venechuk at Blandford Nature Center. This adults-only program introduces you to Shinrin-yoku—a mindful way to experience the woods that's different from traditional hiking. You'll learn about the practice and its scientifically-proven benefits for stress relief, then enjoy a guided forest bathing experience through the center's woods and meadows designed to help you find calm and reconnect with nature.
The program wraps up with a special touch: wild foraged tea and a snack served in the forest, giving you time to reflect and connect with other participants before heading back to the parking lot. Everything you need is provided, including a sit pad, blanket, essential oils, and bug spray options. Registration is required and closes at noon the day before. Cost is $30 for non-members or $24 for members. This outdoor program runs entirely outside, so it will be cancelled in severe weather with refund or makeup date options available.
