Introduction to Worms & Composting for Kids
Learn about worms and composting in this hands-on kids program at the library.
Looking for a fun way to teach your child about sustainability? This hands-on session introduces kids to the basics of composting and worm farming. Children will discover why composting matters, learn which materials work best, and get practical guidance on setting up both a backyard compost pile and a worm bin at home. The instructor will also cover how to maintain your system and use the finished compost in your garden.
The first five kids to arrive will receive a complimentary half-gallon bag of vermicompost to take home and use on their plants—a great way to put their new knowledge into action right away. This program is designed for children ages 6 through 11 and offers a great introduction to composting for families interested in reducing waste and connecting with nature.
