Japanese Handmade Ceramic Workshop Series at Meijer Gardens: Ceramic Nerikomi Pour Over Coffee Cup Set

Japanese ceramic workshop at Meijer Gardens—hands-on craft making a pour-over cup set.

Join ceramic artist Harmony Nguyen for a hands-on workshop where you'll craft your own functional pottery piece inspired by Japanese ceramic traditions. Depending on which session you choose, you can create a wabi-sabi tea set, a matcha cup with whisk holder, or a Nerikomi pour-over coffee cup set—ideal if you're a coffee enthusiast. All materials are provided during the class, and you'll even get to explore the teahouse within the Japanese Garden as part of your visit. Your finished piece will be ready for pickup at a later date. This single-session workshop welcomes creators of all skill levels and takes place in the Richard & Helen DeVos Japanese Gardens at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. If you love the idea of making multiple pieces, you're welcome to register for one, two, or all of the ceramic workshops in the series to build your own collection. It's a wonderful way to learn a traditional craft while creating something beautiful and useful to take home.
