Leathercraft for Therapists: A Hands-On Therapeutic Tool with 018

This workshop gives therapists an introduction to leathercraft basics and shows how to bring this creative activity into their clinical work. You don't need any leatherworking experience to participate—the instructors will teach beginner techniques from the ground up. Two sessions are available throughout the day, so you can choose a time that works with your schedule. During the workshop, you'll discover how leathercraft can support many therapeutic approaches, from art and occupational therapy to mindfulness work and substance use recovery programs. Participants learn how this hands-on activity helps clients develop focus, fine motor skills, patience with challenges, and a real sense of accomplishment. By the end, you'll take home practical leatherworking skills, project ideas you can use with clients, and tips for adapting activities to meet individual needs and goals. The workshop is held at Tandy Leather Grand Rapids.
