Mad Science | Grades 2-3
Mad Science hands-on experiments for Grades 2–3 at Van Andel Institute.
This four-day camp invites second and third graders to become young scientists through hands-on exploration and discovery. Campers will engage in messy, exciting experiments designed to spark curiosity—mixing chemical reactions, generating electricity with a Van de Graaff generator, and using microscopes to observe tiny organisms up close. Each day brings new activities that transform abstract science concepts into real, tangible "wow" moments kids won't forget.
The camp runs from 9 AM to 11:30 AM and is hosted at the Van Andel Institute for Education. The program emphasizes learning through play and experimentation in a supportive environment. Note that this event is currently sold out. If you're interested, the organizers offer a full refund if you cancel more than a week before camp starts, with a 50% refund available for cancellations made within seven days of the start date.
