Michigan I-O - Tuesday Evening Music Club at Meijer Gardens
Free Tuesday evening live music at Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater.
Michigan I-O, a folk music ensemble from Holland, performs songs collected during a historic 1938 Library of Congress expedition led by folklorist Alan Lomax. These recordings capture the voices and stories of Michigan's logging, mining, and shipping communities from the state's early years. The group brings these timeless songs to life in a fresh way that honors their cultural roots and the Great Lakes folk tradition.
This performance is part of the Tuesday Evening Music Club series, which features talented musicians throughout the summer at the Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater. Tickets are free for garden members and included with general admission for everyone else. You can purchase tickets starting at 9 a.m. at the DeVos Ticketing Center in the Welcome Center, or at the amphitheater box office beginning at 5 p.m. Your ticket covers both garden admission and the evening's performance, making it an affordable family outing.
