Nature Storytimes - Various Locations
Outdoor storytimes at local parks featuring tales of Michigan nature and wildlife.
Bring your little ones to the park for an afternoon of stories celebrating Michigan's wildlife and plants! Blandford Educators lead engaging storytimes focused on nature, followed by a hands-on outdoor activity or craft that gets kids exploring the natural world. This program works best for children ages 2–6, though younger and older kids are welcome with registration. A registered adult must stay with children throughout the entire program—this is not a drop-off event.
Sessions happen at several park locations across the summer, with multiple dates to choose from. Admission is $5 per child ages 2 and up, while younger toddlers and adults attend free. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged since spots fill up quickly; you can register online up until one hour before each program starts. Plan to arrive a few minutes early, as programs begin promptly and may involve walking park trails. Since activities happen outdoors rain or shine, dress for the weather with layers and sturdy shoes for unpaved paths. If anyone in your group has mobility concerns, reach out ahead of time so staff can make adjustments.
