Science on the Grand 2026
Science festival with hands-on activities at Van Andel Institute.
Science on the Grand is a two-day professional conference designed specifically for teachers who want to strengthen their classroom practice and connect with colleagues. Hosted by Van Andel Institute for Education, the event brings together educators to explore STEAM instruction strategies, discover standards-aligned lessons tailored to different grade levels, and build a supportive community with teachers in your content area. The program emphasizes practical, research-based approaches you can bring directly into your classroom.
Your registration covers two full days of sessions, meals (breakfast and lunch both days), and networking opportunities with fellow educators. Up to 11 SCECH credits are available. The conference is valued at $800 but is significantly subsidized, making it genuinely affordable for teachers. If a staff member registers, administrators from the same building or district can attend free by calling 616-234-5528 to register with the paid registrant's name. Refunds are available if you need to cancel up to a week before the event.
