Second Saturday Workday

Second Saturday Workday at Saul Lake Bog Nature Preserve

Join the Land Conservancy of West Michigan for a morning of hands-on habitat restoration at Saul Lake Bog Nature Preserve. During this volunteer workday, you'll help collect seeds that will be used to expand native grassland areas throughout West Michigan. The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to noon and welcomes volunteers of all skill levels. You'll meet in the gravel parking lot near the preserve's signage, then hike together into the preserve to begin the work. Come prepared for outdoor conditions by wearing weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes or boots. The good news is that all necessary supplies—tools, work gloves, water, and snacks—are provided for you. This is a wonderful opportunity to teach children about native plants and ecological conservation while making a real difference for local natural spaces. Whether rain or shine, this event offers families a chance to be part of meaningful land stewardship in the Rockford area. Registration is required to attend.
