Grab your work gloves and join the Land Conservancy of West Michigan for a hands-on conservation effort at Brower Lake Nature Preserve. Volunteers help remove invasive shrubs to restore the natural habitat and keep this important ecosystem thriving. The three-hour session runs from 9 a.m. to noon, and you'll work alongside others who care about protecting local nature. All tools, water, work gloves, and snacks are provided, so you just need to show up ready to help. Wear sturdy boots, long pants, and clothes suited to outdoor work—this happens rain or shine. You'll meet at the preserve entrance near the sign, then hike together into the preserve. There's a small parking lot on-site; if it fills up, you can parallel park along Je-NE-Be Drive. This is a great way for families to see tangible conservation in action and understand how regular stewardship keeps natural spaces healthy for years to come. Registration is required to attend.
