Sensory-Friendly Santa Meet and Greet

This special holiday program at Frederik Meijer Gardens gives families a chance to meet Santa in a deliberately calm, unhurried environment. It's designed specifically for children with autism or sensory-processing needs, welcoming kids from preschool through age 12. You'll register for a semi-private 20-minute slot with no more than four families present at once, allowing your child to approach Santa at their own pace. Younger siblings are welcome to join in. While you wait for your turn, children can relax in the Peter M. Wege Library with quieter activities like decorating a mini Christmas tree, doing a craft, or reading. Staff members are on hand to help coordinate when families visit Santa. If you'd like to make a longer outing of it, you can explore the gift shop, café, or Welcome Center before or after. Keep in mind that general admission to Meijer Gardens is separate and not included with this event. Registration is required.
