SOURDOUGH FOR BEGINNERS

SOURDOUGH FOR BEGINNERS

SOURDOUGH FOR BEGINNERS at Spruced Studio

Always wanted to try making sourdough but weren't sure where to start? This 2.5-hour hands-on class at Spruced Studio is designed for complete beginners. You'll learn the fundamentals of working with wild yeast starter, practice essential techniques like stretching and folding, and discover the timeline and best practices for successful baking at home. The instructor provides an active starter to use during class and take home with you. Note that baking doesn't happen in the workshop—instead, you'll leave with dough ready to rise, so you can experience the full baking process yourself. Everyone goes home with plenty of supplies to get started: a glass jar of active starter, a plastic container, spatula, flour, salt, gloves, parchment paper, bowl covers, a notebook, and a comprehensive sourdough guide with recipes and troubleshooting tips. You'll also gain access to a private Facebook group where class participants can connect and share their baking experiences. Whether you've never worked with starter before or had baking mishaps in the past, this class welcomes you. Registration closes five days before the class date, and the workshop is for ages 16 and up.
