Townsend Park: Nature Sensory Experience

Your family is invited to explore the natural world through all five senses on a guided walk through Townsend Park. You'll listen for bird calls, smell plants along the trail, feel different textures, and hunt for rainbow colors in the landscape around you. This program works best for children ages 2–6, though older and younger kids are welcome with advance registration. Arrive a few minutes early to the Enclosed Shelter, as the group departs promptly. Admission is $5 per adult and child (ages 2+), while children under 2 are free. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged since spots are limited, and you can sign up online until one hour before the program starts. Walk-ins are accepted only if space remains. Since activities happen outdoors rain or shine and include unpaved trails, dress everyone in weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes. This is not a drop-off program—a registered adult must supervise every child throughout. If mobility is a concern for your group, let organizers know in advance so they can help accommodate you.
