Townsend Park: Wildlife in the Park!
Hands-on wildlife program at Townsend Park nature preserve.
Bring your family to meet live wildlife ambassadors from Blandford Nature Center! Kids will get to see Michigan animals up close, learn fascinating facts, and take part in a hands-on activity inspired by the animals they encounter. This program works best for children ages 5–12, though younger and older kids are welcome with advance registration. Just remember: this isn't a drop-off event, so a registered adult needs to stay with children throughout.
Plan to arrive a few minutes early, as the program starts right on time and may involve walking into the park. Wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes since activities happen outdoors rain or shine. Tickets are $10 for adults and children ages 2 and up, with free admission for children under 2. Pre-registration is strongly recommended since space fills up quickly—you can register online until one hour before start time, though walk-ins are welcome if spots remain. If you have any mobility concerns, let the organizers know ahead of time so they can help make the experience work for your group.
