Unseen Oceans

Unseen Oceans takes visitors on an underwater exploration from the bright surface waters down to the ocean's darkest zones. This exhibition, created by the American Museum of Natural History, showcases how modern tools—including robotics, remotely operated vehicles, satellite technology, and advanced imaging—are helping scientists uncover the mysteries of our planet's oceans in unprecedented ways. The exhibit features several hands-on and immersive experiences: a virtual submersible dive, oversized models of unusual plankton species, fossils like ammonite shells and megalodon teeth, and a 180-degree high-resolution screen displaying life-sized animations of blue whales, giant squid, and manta rays. You'll also find interactive stations, glowing models of bioluminescent fish and sea turtles, and a partial replica of a Triton submersible that makes for a great photo moment. It's a fascinating way to learn about ocean science and the cutting-edge research happening beneath the waves.
