Wabasis Lake Park: Beginner Kayaking

Ready to get out on the water? Blandford Nature Center instructors will teach you everything you need to know to paddle with confidence. You'll start on land, learning about kayaks, gear, and paddling techniques, then take a gentle paddle along the shoreline of Wabasis Lake. As you glide across the water, the educators will point out the plants, animals, and aquatic life around you. All kayak rentals are included, and the cost is $15 per adult. This program is designed for adults ages 18 and up. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged since spots fill up, and you can register online until one hour before the program starts. Walk-ins are welcome if space remains. Plan to arrive a few minutes early—the group departs promptly at the scheduled time. Keep in mind this is an outdoor activity that happens rain or shine, so dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes suitable for unpaved paths.
